John Luhr at Eagle Boys Pizza

For a period of time just after the birth of my first child I lived in Coffs Harbour and struggled to find work. In the end I took a job at Eagle Boys Pizza and worked for the first time in a small business that was owner run.

It was a telling experience which opened my eyes to the difference between big companies and owner operated small businesses. It showed me how much investment their is in a business when you own it yourself and when you are just working there.

It also opened my eyes to what it was like working with teenagers and how little they could care about anything.

Eagle Boys Pizza is a franchise operation which means although there is a head office and a big company, each actual store is a small business where more often than not, the actual owner is the manager.
